Description

...My series continues! :dummy:
Following Lathuril, Qaraaq and Karavash it's now time to pay a visit to the steppes of (lower) Lettfell  (there is an 'upper'/mountainous Lettfell too; quite similar to this, but still distinct enough to deserve it's own sheet, lol).
For the regulars: YES, Lettfell is where Zlesdins are from! The name literally means 'steppe charger' from Zles = steppe and Dinèk = horse of war  //end of fun fact.

Lettfell is a huge province; second in size only to Lathuril. The Fells originated as a nomadic horseback-culture divided into various tribes. Today, most Fells have long since given up their nomadic way of life, but the famed Zlesdin horses and hunting with eagles/falcons remain an important and paramount part of their culture. Many people fear the Fells – stories of the brutal Fellish raiders are used to scare naughty children throughout the Union.. and with good reason, one should probably add. The famed 'Kizaths' are notorious for their skillful ruthlessness in arms, and Fellish mercenaries receive a much higher salary than others simply for the 'scare factor'. The extra-edged sabres they use are dubbed 'childsbane' sabres, and you can maybe guess why.
In Fellish society property and family names are inherited through the women (married men take the name of their wife, but pass a patronymic onto their children). Lettfell's rulers have traditionally always been female and legislation/education is considered a 'lady business'.

Fashion style: The textile industry is one of the pillars of Fellish economy, specializing in luxury textiles such as wool and silk. This is reflected in the clothing style of the Fells, which is flashy, flamboyant and colourful. ‘Less is more’ is a term not applicable; instead their taste can be described as ‘way too much is nearly enough’. The strong traditions in terms of clothing style and cultural values are important to Fellish people and have enabled them to keep their distinctive cultural identity and way of life with little change for the past centuries. Note that the colour yellow is strictly reserved for use by the nobility; the Shendiks. The people of lower Felland are also very fond of their 'bling' and flaunt their riches at any given chance. People from other provinces often consider the Fellish style a bit 'overdone' or even 'tacky'.
The Fells have a strange and (to foreigners) morbid fascination with death. The Fellish culture in one sentence: "We are all going to die and turn to dust, so we might as well look our best at all times while we're alive".

The creatures featured here:
¤ Silver eagle - used for hunting by the well-to-dos of Fellish men
¤ Zlesdin horse - this particular horse is pretty much the ideal Zlesdin: Tall, long-legged, lean and copper chestnut.
¤ Horned falcon - used for huntring by the well-to-dos of Fellish women

(negative) Prejudices from other provinces
:bulletred: No sense of humour
:bulletred: Hot-tempered, aggressive and cruel
:bulletred: Always drunk
:bulletred: Flamboyant to the point of ridiculousness

Notable characters of mine from lower Lettfell
:bulletblack: Seiger
:bulletblack: Tafni

...in CASE you think the two folks displayed here look familiar then perhaps that's because they are actually Seig's Papa and Tafni herself, lol. I haven't featured other 'actual' characters on these sheets before, but since these two are basically the embodiment of this culture I just figured why not :dummy:
Seig's papa is actually the Field Marshall of Lettfell. Sort of like the Tywin Lannister of Lettfell, I guess. Seig's only a lowly mercenary because he's a bastard, whoops
Tafni is also a Shendik, hence the yellow :>
