B is for...

...Bashkir curly!

Whooow, finally B arrives! I started this ambitious horse-breeds-by-letters-project earlier this year. This is the second one, heh. I have a long way to go yet... especially with the rate at which I'm currently finishing these drawings x'D

Been a while since my last realistic horse, and I apologize for that. Time flies.
For the letter B I chose to portray a bashkir curly horse. It.. doesn't really look the part. I know. I have never seen a bashkir myself, as they are rare in my part of the world. I know they have this cool, curly fur, which I actually added to the drawing as well, but alas! It disappeared as I scanned it. Perhaps you can see the remains of it on the belly and shoulder of this horse, but fff. It's clear in the original drawing, though.
Anyway. Bashkir curly horses (or, 'curlies', if you will) come in all sizes, shapes and colours but what ties them together is that they carry a gene that codes for their unique curly fur. The degree of 'curl' varies a bit, however.
A certain protein is lacking from the hair of curlies, which makes them the only hypo-allergenic horse breed - most people with horse allergies can handle curlies without suffering any allergic reactions c:
